Red Cross Red Crescent Basic and First Aid Training
Red Crescent Chittagong Ideal High School Unit, under the Training and Co-curriculum Department of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), organized a 8-day long comprehensive training event covering the basics of the Red Cross/ Red Crescent Movement and essential first aid skills. The training was held at school’s auditorium from September 8 to September 15, 2024. Under 15 experienced trainers, 150 students participated in the training. The event commenced with welcoming remarks from key officials of Chattogram City Red Crescent Youth. The Participants were introduced to the visionary founder, Jean Henry Dunant. A detailed session on International Humanitarian law (IHL) was conducted. The First Aid Training session covered several life-saving techniques essential for handling emergencies. Introduction to first aid, chocking, shock, fits, fainting, poisoning, bites, burns, bleeding, wounds, dressing of wounds, bone fracture, transportation and fever were discussed. The training was concluded with assessments to evaluate the participants’ understanding and skills. The training was inaugurated by Honourable Headmaster, Shahida Nasrin Shiuly. It was presided over by Mohammad Helal Uddin, Assistant Teacher.
